The B160 Exporters Summit

The new exporters: SMEs global from day one

Small firms that sold abroad in their first year. What they sold, who bought it, and what it cost them to find out.

A small workshop late at night, three people packing their first export crate and writing a foreign address on it by lamplight.

Speakers

Our Superconnectors are busy identifying people the rest of us should learn from. If that is you, contact us. A name appears here once its owner has agreed to stand on the stage, and not before.

Every speaker is a member of the B160 and every session is chaired. We ask for the figures and the thing that went wrong, and we cut a session that turns into a pitch.

The questions

  • The first order from a country nobody in the company had been to
  • Payment, shipping and returns at a size that cannot carry a department
  • Which markets to say no to, and how early
  • The support a small exporter actually uses, against the support that is offered

Who is in the room

Founders and commercial leaders at companies with fewer than 200 staff.

Before and after

Your Superconnector reads the attendee list against your goals and comes back with the three people worth finding, before the day rather than after it.

Everything said on the day that a speaker agrees to publish becomes a peer-contributed playbook. The rest stays in the room.

One person at a whiteboard explaining a diagram to five others around a table at night.

The useful part is usually the conversation after the session.
